Breaking all the rules, SSU dance students perform five new works from nationally acclaimed guest artists Larry Arrington, Monica Bill Barnes, Erin Landry and SSU Dance faculty Christine Cali and Kristen Daley. Specializing in experimental performance, Barnes enjoys “bringing dance where it doesn’t belong” while Arrington’s work gravitates toward the “subversively political and accidentally hilarious.” In residency this spring, Landry is known for her powerful, mesmerizing choreography with contemporary, Middle Eastern and Afro-Caribbean influences.
The newly formed SSU Dance Alumni Collective “CCMC” also makes a guest appearance, presenting a new work at the final two performances April 27 and 28.
