Auto Burglaries (Case SS24-213 and SS24-214) – Timely Warning

This Timely Warning Bulletin is being issued in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Act, and the purpose is to provide preventative information to the campus community to aid members from becoming the victim of a similar crime.

On Saturday, December 14, between 6:15 p.m. and 9:10 p.m., an unknown suspect(s) rummaged through an unlocked vehicle in Lot E.  Additionally, another unlocked vehicle was reported to have been rummaged through Saturday evening at the South Parking Information Center (near the flagpoles).

The Sonoma State University Police Department reminds the campus community of the following safety tips:

  • Lock your vehicles and secure your possessions.  Do not leave items unattended.
  • Promptly report any suspected crime, suspicious persons, and/or activities on campus to the Sonoma State University Police Department by calling 911 or the non-emergency line at 707-664-4444 or by texting to 911.
  • If you believe that you or someone else is in an unsafe situation, please do not delay calling or texting 911 and/or seeking assistance from others.
  • Be alert to your surroundings. Your actions as an active bystander can help prevent crimes from occurring within our campus community.
