The Applied Arts curriculum provides practical and theoretical training in at least three of the following areas: art, English (with an emphasis on creative writing), music, and theatre arts (drama and/ or dance). The minor is intended for students interested in acquiring a broad background in the arts, but it is particularly appropriate for liberal studies majors who intend to complete the Multiple Subject Credential Program. The applied arts minor provides students with practical skills appropriate to their future work as classroom teachers at the elementary grade level.
