New Center for International Education Finds Home in Former Student Union

An organizational center to meet the needs of international students on the SSU campus will be created in the former Student Union next year.

The School of Extended and International Education will operate the Center for International Education which will be located on the lower level of the old Student Center. The building has been re-named International Hall.

“The new Center for International Education will make a dramatic difference to international students and those who provide SSU services. These services are necessary to support the existing students and provide a motivation for a new model of worldwide recruitment of international students,” says Mark Merickel, Dean of the School of Extended and International Education.

The new Center will bring together the offices and staff of International Services, Study Abroad program, Sonoma State American Language Institute, and matriculated international students.

Merickel expects move-in day to be sometime after the Spring 2014 semester.
