Holiday Festivities Right Around the Corner
Holiday Readings - The Tradition Continues
From Dec. 2 through Dec. 5 join Kathryn Atwood as she reads a Christmas novel in a dramatic, noisy, and hilarious tone from 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. in Nichols 242.
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever by Barbara Robinson portrays:
The Herdmans who are the worst kids in the history of the world. They lie, steal, smoke cigars, swear, and hit little kids. So no one is prepared when this outlaw family invades church one Sunday and decides to take over the annual Christmas pageant. Their interpretation of the tale -- the Wise Men are a bunch of dirty spies and Herod needs a good beating -- has a lot of people up in arms. But it will make this year's pageant the most unusual anyone has seen and, just possibly, the best one ever.
Come by for popcorn and hot cocoa as Hutchins Administrative Specialist (and probably distant Herdman relative) Kathryn reads aloud from this unconventional holiday favorite.
Holiday Door Contest
All staff and faculty are invited to participate in the annual Holiday Door Contest – there will be prizes! Showcase your creativity and represent your department by entering the contest. All doors will be judged on the following criteria: originality, holiday spirit, difficulty, and most important, department/university integration. Judges want to see aspects of each department incorporated on the doors.
For those interested in entering the contest or with questions, contact Jen Aaseth, firstname.lastname@example.org. Judging will take place Dec. 18.
