For campus departments sponsoring a certification, a list may be submitted to the Risk Management Programmer with the name and billing contact information of the department and names of individuals authorized to attend the certification class by that department. Individuals may register by showing their SSU ID card to staff and being confirmed on a list. That department will be invoiced for the registered individuals within 30 days after the certification has taken place. Campus Recreation and Campus Life employees may be eligible for training at a discounted rate. Please the Risk Management Programmer for details.
Campus Recreation may cancel a course at any time for a variety of reasons. If this occurs, all registered students will be entitled to a full refund. After a student has registered, a student cancellation may be made up to seven days in advance the scheduled class in order to receive a refund. For Online courses the start of the course will be determined by distribution of online access to the course material or distribution of written materials whichever comes first. Within seven days of the class, no refund will be given unless a substitution can be made for that students spot. Students cancelling within seven days are encouraged to contact the Risk Management Coordinator to inquire about substitutions from a class waitlist.
If a student fails to show up for a scheduled class, no refund will be given.
If a student fails a class, they should follow up with their instructor regarding follow up options. No refunds will be given in the case students fail to earn a certification.
Drugs and Alcohol
The use of drugs or alcohol during courses is strictly prohibited. Students found to be using drugs or alcohol will be asked to leave. No refunds will be given for dismissal due drug or alcohol use.
All certifications will be issued by the class instructor. Participants are encouraged to first contact course instructors for all certification card issues.
