Specific areas of interest and responsibility include oversight of program development, modification and review; liaison with faculty governance committees; liaison with the School Deans and their office staffs; oversight of and support to university-wide programs such as the General Education and the Graduate Programs; involvement in long-range strategic planning to support the academic mission of the University, liaison with local school districts to encourage the long-range planning of cooperative programs; liaison with the system-wide CSU Chancellor's Office on educational program matters, and coordination of the accreditation process with the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

Undergraduate Research Grants

As a part of its allocation of Instructionally Related Activity Fees, the Fee Advisory Committee has funded the Undergraduate Research Grant Program for the 2008-2009 academic year. These research grants are designed to aid undergraduates with expenses they may incur in their research projects, such as supplies, equipment, or travel to present their research at professional or scholarly meetings. The maximum award is $500 per grant. To qualify, a research project must be supported by a faculty sponsor and must be directly related to a class in which the student is enrolled.

Faculty members are encouraged to make this information available to students who are engaged in or considering independent research projects. Guidelines and application forms are available in the Academic Affairs office, Stevenson 1041, or can be downloaded by clicking the links below. The priority deadline for applications is October 31, 2008. For further information contact David Hartranft at 664-2237.
