Sonoma State University Transportation & Parking Services is proud to announce the launch of Redwood Bikeshare on campus. As part of the university’s continued partnership with local agencies to connect SSU to the rest of the North Bay, this program is a joint venture with the Sonoma County Transportation Authority (SCTA) to increase transportation options throughout the county and support sustainable, car-free travel in the local area.

Redwood Bikeshare is a shared network of electric pedal-assist bikes serving Sonoma and Marin counties, with locations throughout the region. Redwood Bikeshare has installed two bicycle racks on the Sonoma State campus -- one between the Student Center and Recreation Center (with seven bicycles) and another in the parking lot across from the Green Music Center (with three bicycles).

We are proud to bring this regionally connected, environmentally friendly, affordable transportation option to the campus. Whether you’re riding to or from SMART, running errands, going to dinner, or riding recreationally, you can now cruise Marin and Sonoma counties with Redwood Bikeshare!

For more information about the program, locations, pricing, and membership options (including a discount for SNAP and Medicaid-eligible riders), visit redwoodbikeshare.com or download the Redwood Bikeshare app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store

Parking and Transportation services is proud to support free bus rides on Sonoma County Transit for students. No special passes are needed to ride -- just show your current student identification when boarding. This is another sustainable opportunity for the campus community, and part of the university’s commitment to sustainable transit and to ensuring the campus is connected to the broader North Bay community. For more information, please visit the Sonoma County Transit webpage to plan your trip.

Amtrak also provides a 15% discount to SSU students and provides service from Martinez to Arcata. Please visit the Amtrak San Joaquins Route 7 website for details.
