California State University follows the business travel mileage rate published by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to calculate reimbursable costs of using a personal vehicle for university business use. The Chancellor's Office has notified campuses that the IRS has published the following mileage reimbursement rates effective for business travel occurring on or after January 1, 2025.
The California State University mileage rate for calendar year 2025 will be 70 cents per mile, which is an increase from the 2024 rate of 67 cents per mile. Miles driven for moving and relocation purposes will be reimbursed at the rate of 21 cents per mile, the same rate as 2024.
Concur will be updated for mileage rates after January 1, 2025.
