The Sonoma State DREAM Center, in collaboration with CHIRLA (Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights), invites you to a Know Your Rights workshop happening this Friday, January 10, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. This FREE event is open to the entire campus community.
By attending this workshop, participants will gain the tools to navigate complex and challenging situations while contributing to a more informed and supportive campus community. The purpose of the workshop is to:
- Empower Participants: Equip individuals with the legal knowledge needed to protect themselves and their families during encounters with immigration enforcement.
- Raise Awareness: Provide an understanding of constitutional rights regardless of immigration status.
- Share Practical Strategies: Teach actionable steps to assert rights effectively and safely during interactions with authorities.
- Foster Community Support: Create a space for dialogue, solidarity, and resource sharing to strengthen the undocumented and immigrant community.
