This is a choral concert that walks you through war, then gently lifts you into peace. An emotional performance crafted by SSU’s Concert Choir and SonoVoce, featuring Prayer for Peace—a beautiful composition by Dr. Brian S. Wilson.

As Director Jenny Bent puts it:

“Through the expressive power of choral music, we navigate themes of struggle and hope, ultimately emerging into the light.”

Two orchestras. One stunning concert.

The Santa Rosa Junior College Orchestra, led by Cynthia Weichel, kicks the night off with a captivating set including Toward a New Life, Tuesday (yes, by McCartney), and Ives’ Variations on America.

Then it’s time.

The SSU Symphony Orchestra, under Dr. Alexander Kahn, takes the stage with Mahler’s Symphony No. 1, “Titan”—joined by members of the SRJC Orchestra in a breathtaking collaboration.

Join us to celebrate the 10th anniversary of SSU's Orchestra program with this masterpiece.
