Campus Policies and Policy Database Updates

The Policy Office at Sonoma State is pleased to share the launch of the new University Policies website! Users can access the site from the same URL as before but will be greeted with an all-new experience. The former, static webpage has been converted to a dynamic website, which includes improved features such as: 

  • The ability to search policies by keyword
  • Filters to organize policies by area
  • Improved accessibility, consistency, and compliance
  • Transparency into the policy management process
  • Improved tools for policy owners and policy revisions

The updated policy index is accessible to all SSU employees as well as the general public and searching for a specific subject or policy can be done in several different ways. A brief overview and user guide for searching the policy library can be found on the University Policies website.

The Policy Office, managed by Risk Management & Safety Services, oversees the development, maintenance, and implementation of university policies. The Policy Office supports and facilitates the development, implementation, and maintenance of university policies by assisting policy owners, ensuring compliance with legal standards, and managing the Policy Index while promoting transparency, consistency, and institutional compliance.

Over the next year, the Policy Office will be working with policy owners to review, update and/or retire policies. Moving forward, and in line with the Policy Management Policy, all policies will be regularly reviewed every three years.
