TO: Sonoma State Employees
FR: Khou Yang-Vigil, Director of Equity & Access Programs

Undocumented students (also known as Dreamers) are a fast-growing population on campus. These students face unique challenges that impact their enrollment, retention, and academic success. The Sonoma State DREAM Center is excited to collaborate with Santa Rosa Junior College and the Undocu-Scholars LLC to offer an Undocu-Advocate Training on Friday, December 6, 2024. Attendees have the option to join in-person at the SRJC Petaluma Campus or via Zoom. Registration information can be found below.

The Undocu-Advocate Training aims to inform faculty, staff, and administrators about how to create a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive campus environment for undocumented students. Attendees will also learn strategies for implementation in offices, classrooms, and throughout the entire campus to provide support for undocumented students. The emphasis will be on exploring opportunities for departments to collaborate and synergize with each other and with the DREAM Center to effectively address the needs of undocumented students.

Upon completion, attendees will receive a display-ready certificate identifying them as trusted university personnel who have completed this training.
