TO: Campus Community
FR: Rose Calzontzi, Director of TRIO Student Support Services
Sonoma State University is proud to join colleges and universities from across the nation in celebration of first-generation college students throughout the month of November. First-gen college students – those from families in which neither parent received a baccalaureate degree – are a critically important and growing population at nearly all institutions of higher education. Many in our SSU community are first-generation students, including me.
First-gen Seawolves and supporters across campus are invited to join our community celebration, share stories via social media, and check out the new First-gen Seawolves webpage to mark this year’s event.
