TO: All Employees
FR: Missy Brunetta, Associate Risk Officer and Director of Environmental Health and Safety
Campus colleagues,
As part of our ongoing commitment to the health and wellbeing of our campus community, I write to you today to provide notification of a campus COVID outbreak. Please note this outbreak is separate from yesterday’s communication regarding Suite 2078.
The new outbreak is in Suite 2050B of Salazar Hall, where those units that are part of Financial Services and Entrepreneurial Services reside. Employees assigned to work in this location are subject to additional requirements and will receive separate communication regarding these requirements. Due to the number of connected cases, this location meets the guidelines for outbreak as defined by Cal-OSHA and this notice is provided pursuant to California Code of Regulations §3205.1.
Any persons who were present in Salazar 2050B between July 9 - 22, 2024 may have been exposed and should monitor themselves for COVID-like symptoms. Masking is strongly encouraged and any employee who may have been exposed is entitled to free testing on work time. Please contact your healthcare provider to obtain testing. If your healthcare provider does not provide testing, please contact Environmental Health and Safety at (707) 664-2100 or safety@sonoma.edu.
Beginning today, any person who enters Suite 2050B is required to wear a face covering until August 6, 2024. This includes all occupants and guests within the suite. Face coverings are required for 14 days following this notice. As a reminder, all cases of COVID-19 are required to be reported to COVID Monitoring Team.
Managers are encouraged to work directly with their employees if time away from work is needed for testing and/or to make other unit level determinations regarding operational adjustments.
If you have any other questions about this email, please contact covid.monitoring@sonoma.edu.
