Greetings Campus Partners,

While our campus continues to share updates regarding student recruitment efforts and campus evolutions, we wanted to take this opportunity to provide updates from the Office of Orientation and Parent and Family Programs about the third phase of our NOMA Nation Orientation program, the Week of Welcome (WOW).

Residential Campus Move-In, August 15
For students who will be living on campus, the move-in experience will commence at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, August 15 at the Green Music Center. If you are interested in being part of the move-in experience, we would be delighted to have you as a volunteer. If you are interested, please complete the move-in and orientation volunteer form.

Week of Welcome

  • During the week prior to classes beginning, three tracks are offered to provide relevant information to different populations:
  • The Week of Welcome will begin on Wednesday, August 16 at 9:30 a.m. and continue through the evening of Sunday, August 20.
  • Our goal with WOW is to help successfully see students through their first semester and ensure that this sets the tone for what will ultimately be a great year and start to their college experience.
  • To see the schedule for all three tracks, visit the Orientation and Parent and Family Programs website.
  • WOW includes introductions to campus, support services, student leaders, clubs, evening events and programming so that students are aware of all that Sonoma State has to offer them.
  • We would like to formally invite all of campus to participate in Potentia: A New Student Welcome, which will take place on Friday, August 18. Staging for all continuing student and non-student participants/guests will be on the Darwin/Stevenson Quad at 6:30 p.m., with the event culminating at 6:45 p.m. on Seawolf Plaza.
  • If you are interested in getting an insider’s look of the Week of Welcome, we will be holding a meeting on Monday, August 14 at 1 p.m. that gives an overview of the week. The meeting will be in the Grand Ballroom of the Student Center. RSVP is not required.

Orientation and Family Programs Website
Please review the new Orientation and Parent and Family Programs website which provides information about orientation for students entering SSU in Fall 2023, while also sharing additional information about family programs and other semesterly events.

Thank you all so much for supporting us while we navigate this evolution to our NOMA Nation Orientation program, and please always feel free to reach out to orientation@sonoma.edu if you have further questions.

It’s a great day to be a Seawolf!
