Sonoma State University students and employees who regularly use Highway 12 to commute to and from campus are advised that Caltrans plans to close a stretch of the highway for a month beginning as soon as tomorrow – Wednesday, September 6.
As part of the Sonoma and Hooker Creek bridge replacement project, Highway 12 between Madrone Road and Agua Caliente Road will be closed to take down and rebuild Hooker Creek Bridge. The closure was scheduled to begin today, although the highway was open this morning.
Traffic will be detoured around the closed bridge via Madrone Road, Arnold Drive, and Agua Caliente Road. Local traffic will be allowed as far as the closed bridge.
Caltrans estimates that the project will take 30 days.
