Dear Campus Community,
The Green Music Center is launching a new world music festival called Global Roots Sonoma on September 23-24, 2023. It features four stages (three indoors and one outside on the terrace) with 12 bands playing music from all over the world, with a mission to connect Sonoma State to the globe.
Discount tickets are now available ($29 for everyone and $10 for SSU students)!
The artists include:
- Las Cafeteras, SSU favorite playing Afro-Mexican rhythms from East LA
- Mariachi Herencia de Mexico with La Marisoul from La Santa Cecilia
- Alasdair Frasier & Natalie Haas, Scottish fiddle and cello duo
- Paula Fuga, soulful vocals from Hawaii
- San Salvador, high energy Occitan polyphony
- Sunday is particularly great for youngsters (or those who work with them) with Tia Leah’s Neighborhood and others
We hope the entire campus community will join us in exploring the many cultural traditions represented at the festival.
