I would like to provide an update on the campus power infrastructure project. Work to replace one of the campus's two main electrical feeders is complete, and we are ready to start working on the second feeder replacement. To do so, we need to initiate a campus-wide power outage. While there is no best time to do so, we have chosen a time when there will be the least possible impact throughout the campus community.

This power outage is scheduled from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., for a total of 8 hours, on each of the following days next month:

Monday, May 22
Tuesday, May 23
Wednesday, May 24

Please refrain from entering any campus academic building during the power outage schedule.

Residents within the Housing Community can remain on campus, although they will be without power between the hours listed above. Although we do not anticipate a power outage of this duration to affect the refrigerated and frozen contents in the housing units, we recommend that refrigerators and freezers remain closed at all times until power is restored.

As an extra layer of precaution, we recommend powering down all electric and electronic devices, and switching off or unplugging power strips.

During this scheduled power outage, our backup generators will be deployed for the following buildings: Art Pump House, Central Plant, Darwin, Greenhouse, Police Station, Schulz, Stevenson, Student Center, and Student Health Center.

Please begin now to make any necessary arrangements for your area that may be impacted by the outage. A reminder notification will be sent close to the actual outage dates.

Please contact me directly, twedell@sonoma.edu, should you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you.
