Human Resources Update

Monday, August 8, 2022, 11:45am

TO: Sonoma State University Employees
FR: Karen Moranski, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs; Monir Ahmed, Vice President for Administration and Finance.

The California State University (CSU) system continues to actively work to complete conversations associated with tentative successor agreements still pending ratification. Once we receive the technical letters outlining the final terms and eligibility requirements of the approved agreements, Human Resources will begin processing any increases due to eligible employees. These payments will be retroactively applied according to the provisions of any salary programs approved for APC, CFA, CSUEU, SUPA, Teamsters and MPP/C99 employees. In the meantime, we appreciate your continued patience and look forward to sharing additional updates as information is received.

This memo also provides information regarding changes to Faculty Affairs and Success that will take place in August:

  • Academic Personnel, currently housed in Administration and Finance, will now report through Academic Affairs as the Office of Faculty Affairs and Success (OFAS). The office will continue to be co-located in the Office of Human Resources and will work closely with HR on shared services and opportunities to increase efficiencies.
  • Kent Porter, Interim Senior Director of Labor Relations, will continue in this role to partner with faculty, administrators, and CFA leadership on faculty labor relation issues through December 2022.
  • Matthew Paolucci Callahan is returning to his 12-month faculty position as Director of Teaching and Learning in the Center for Teaching and Educational Technology (CTET). We continue to plan for an expansion of Faculty Success as we move forward.
  • Dr. Simone Aloisio, who has served for the last three years as Associate Vice President for Faculty Affairs at California Polytechnic University, Humboldt has agreed to serve as Interim Associate Vice President for Faculty Affairs and Success here at Sonoma State for the 2022-23 academic year. Simone will assume this role on August 8, 2022 and supervise OFAS.
