TO: All Employees

We write today with a brief update on our plans to return to campus. Guidance related to workplace safety, education environments, and the local and state government mandates continue to change, and SSU continues to revise plans to ensure compliance and safety. More guidance and information will be forthcoming this summer, particularly in the areas of workplace safety. We ask that everyone continue to be patient as we adapt our plans to the constantly changing guidelines and regulations.
SSU will move forward with a return to campus beginning June 7. However, to provide staff and managers with 30-days notice of a schedule and worksite change, some employees’ return to campus dates may be delayed. Human Resources and Risk Management will be communicating with staff and managers regarding any delays to ensure the department's operational needs are met.
Staff and Administrators
Human Resources will begin issuing tentative return notices to staff and managers this week. These return to campus agreements will include dates for the start of on-campus schedules, and they are tentative pending agreements with the labor unions. We are grateful to our labor partners for continuing to steward this process with safety and equity as paramount goals. Managers will be copied on all notices to employees to ensure communication is clear to all.
Faculty
A survey to assess faculty on-campus activities was sent out to Faculty by Faculty Affairs with a deadline of today, May 17, 2021. This survey will help assess what spaces faculty will be accessing in the fall semester in order to be sure adequate sanitation supplies, signage, and other COVID-19 safety measures are in place.
In addition to employees returning to campus, more information will be provided regarding the resumption of on-campus activities, events, and other exciting initiatives that SSU is launching for the summer.
If you have any questions about this survey or your department’s operational plans, please email repopulation@sonoma.edu.
