Colleagues,
Thank you for doing your part to limit the spread of COVD-19 on campus. We are grateful for the success we’ve had in keeping COVD-19 exposures low, and we must not let up on these efforts. It is every employee’s responsibility to be an active participant in their safety at SSU and adhere to all COVID-19 safety guidelines. Below outlines the requirements of all faculty and staff as a reminder.
Wearing face masks: Wearing a face mask has proven to be very effective in preventing the circulation of the coronavirus. Masks are required inside all campus buildings at all times. Employees, students, or guests who forget a mask may pick one up at the following locations: the Student Center Info and Tickets Desk, Seawolf Services in Salazar Hall, and the University Library Circulation Desk (2nd floor) during business hours.
Daily wellness screenings: All faculty and staff who visit campus are required to complete a daily wellness screening under Cal-OSHA workplace standards and SSU policy. Managers are responsible for ensuring that faculty and staff working on campus are compliant with the policy. Managers can also request a report of their employees’ compliance by emailing covid.monitoring@sonoma.edu.
Exposures to COVID-19: Faculty and staff who were exposed (or potentially exposed) to COVID-19 are required to report this information to COVID Monitoring Team. This requirement is for faculty and staff with fully remote schedules, as well as those with hybrid or fully on campus schedules. Supervisors are additionally required to notify the COVID Monitoring Team if they become aware of any exposures of faculty and staff.
COVID symptoms: Faculty and staff experiencing any COVID-19-like symptom are required to report this information to the COVID Monitoring Team. Supervisors are also required to notify COVID Monitoring Team if any of their staff call-out sick and indicate they are experiencing any COVID-19-like symptom.
Students or student assistant reporting: Faculty and staff who become aware of any students who have been exposed to COVID-19 or who are experiencing symptoms are required to report those students' names to the COVID Monitoring Team so that they can ensure the students are evaluated by the Student Health Center for medical care, if needed, and for campus clearance.
Reporting COVID safety protocol violations: We encourage our campus community to submit any concerns they have regarding COVID-19 safety protocols. Reports can be confidentially made to the COVID Monitoring Team at covid.monitoring@sonoma.edu or (707) 664-2684.
Through our combined efforts, we are helping to keep our campus community safe. If you have any questions about this information or COVID-19 safety protocols, please contact COVID Monitoring at covid.monitoring@sonoma.edu.
Stay safe and well, Seawolves.
