As you may recall, California State University (CSU) updated its travel policy to shift from actual expense reimbursement to a per diem rate. The policy requires periodic reviews to keep the per diem rate current. Recently, the U.S. Office of General Services (GSA) updated the per diem rates. Effective for business travel occurring on or after October 1, 2024, the CSU has updated its rates to match those published by the GSA. Sonoma State follows CSU policy and guidance and has automatically adopted the new rate.
For all Sonoma State travelers, effective October 1, 2024, standard M&IE rates will increase from $59 to $68. Additionally, M&IE tiers for non-standard areas will now range from $68 to $92, up from the previous range of $59 to $79. Systemwide Concur has been updated to reflect these new rates.
