FR: Neil Markley, Associate Vice President for Administration and Finance

Sonoma State University Community,

The rate for daily, monthly, and semester parking permits will increase on August 1, 2024. This rate increase will meet the short- and long-term needs of the campus and enable maintenance and repairs in our existing lots. The new rates can be found on the Transportation & Parking Services website

Transportation & Parking Services encourages students, faculty, and staff to consider saving money on parking by walking, bicycling, or taking mass transit. Alternate modes of transportation in our local area include Public TransitSMART Train, and Zipcar

Why do I have to pay for parking?
Your purchase of a semester or daily permit enables the University to build and maintain the lots and to purchase supplies and equipment necessary to operate the program. Per the Education Code, parking is a self-support program, which means that general fund or tuition revenue cannot be used to fund parking construction, operations, or maintenance.

When are parking permits required?
Parking permits are required 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including weekends.

Where can I buy a parking permit?
Fall 2024 parking permits go on sale August 1, can only be purchased online, and can be paid by debit/credit card or electronic check. Log in to SSU Online Services and click on the Parking tile. If your parking permit is paid by a third party or a vocational rehabilitation sponsor, or you are approved for a waiver of campus parking fees, please call (707) 664-4321. (Eligible students must have a valid DMV Disabled Placard and be approved for a waiver due to financial information provided to the Financial Aid office)

Whom do I contact if I have questions?
Please email parking@sonoma.edu or call (707) 664-4321. If your phone call is unanswered, please leave a voicemail, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
