Several of you have inquired about commencement safety plans. Sonoma State University has extensive protocols for events and celebrations. In light of the heightened activity around Commencement at university campuses, we have expanded our standard response protocols to ensure a celebration of the graduates in a safe and joyful environment:
- This year, individuals without a valid ticket will not be allowed inside Weill Hall where the ceremony is taking place.
- The Green Music Center rules limit what items may be brought into the hall. Flowers and balloons may be checked in at the Weill Hall coat check in the lobby. It is not appropriate, however, for the university to share specific details about our response plan.
Commencement is an extremely important event at our university. During challenging times, we embrace the right of our community to express their views lawfully. It is not appropriate for the university to share specific details about our response plan. Please know, however, that the university has worked to prepare an event that will be joyous and safe.
