TO: Sonoma State Employees
FR: DREAM Center
Undocumented students (also known as Dreamers) are a fast growing population on campus. These students face unique challenges that impact their enrollment, retention, and academic success. The Sonoma State DREAM Center is excited to collaborate with Undocu-Scholars LLC to offer an Undocu-Advocate Training on Friday, February 23, 2024. Attendees have the option to join in-person or via Zoom. Registration information can be found below.
The Undocu-Advocate Training aims to inform faculty, staff, and administrators on how to create a welcoming, supportive and inclusive campus environment for undocumented students. Attendees will also learn strategies for implementation in offices, classrooms, and throughout the entire campus to provide support for undocumented students. The emphasis will be on exploring opportunities for departments to collaborate and synergize with both each other and the DREAM Center to effectively address the needs of undocumented students.
Upon completion, attendees will receive a certificate to be displayed, identifying them as trusted university personnel who have completed this training.
