A film crew will be on campus Wednesday and Thursday, August 30-31 to shoot Sonoma State student volunteers taking part in a TikTok back-to-school quiz. The event is hosted by Quizlet, a web tool and mobile application that boosts student learning through study tools, including flash cards and game-based quizzes.
The Quizlet Back-to-School Quiz will take place on Salazar Plaza. Filming on August 30 is scheduled between 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. The main filming will be August 31 from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The game-show style format features TikToker Wyatt Eiden, who will invite students to participate. He will ask questions related to courses that the students are taking. Depending upon how many of the five questions are answered correctly, a student will have the chance to win up to $500.
There is no obligation for participation by students or other members of the campus community, who are invited to stop by and see what Quizlet is all about. Quizlet’s presence also is not an endorsement of the product by Sonoma State University.
The final show will be released as three 2-minute episodes on TikTok and YouTube.
