Dear Campus Community,
Beginning today, Monday, August 08, and continuing through Monday, August, 15, the campus will undergo extensive underground construction that will cause some partial and temporary lane closures.
The work includes an underground electrical switchgear conduit that will extend from the existing utilities tunnel (south of Veterans' Grove), through the flagpole median and crossing S Redwood Drive and east of the Sequoia Way road section. Flaggers will be on scene to provide traffic control during sections of road closures and help facilitate travel east and west on S Redwood Drive, as well as north and south at Sequoia Way.
On Tuesday, August 09, from 9am to 3pm, a crane will be on site to deliver and set underground vaults. Two areas will be affected from 9 am to noon on Tuesday: the east side of S Redwood Drive from Sequoia Way intersection will have a temporary one-lane traffic for crane laydown area, and flaggers will direct traffic at the partial one-lane closure. The second area affected at this time will be J Lot’s northwest corner, along the parking permit dispenser. The J Lot parking permit dispenser may not be accessible during this time, due to the crane laydown area.
The underground conduit extension will be completed by the close of business on Monday, August 15. Roads will be fully reopened and ready for student move-in, beginning on Tuesday, August 16.
