Dear Campus Community,
It is with great sadness that I report that we have lost a member of our Seawolf family. Oswaldo Moya Diaz was a junior studying in Sonoma State University’s Chicano and Latino Studies program. He was a beloved part of our DREAM Center, EOP, and CAASE family while being a DREAM.US Scholar recipient, a member of the NAK fraternity, and a FAST (first and second-year transition) Peer Mentor. Oswaldo will be dearly missed. Please join us in sharing our sympathy and most sincere condolences with Oswaldo’s family and friends.
Several campus organizations have come together to host a Celebration of Life at SSU, which will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Ballroom B, C, & D. All are welcome to attend.
Please know that counseling support is available for students, faculty, and staff who desire to speak with someone. Students are encouraged to reach out to SSU Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) at (707) 664-2153. Faculty and staff are encouraged to take advantage of counseling services provided through the SSU Employee Assistance Program.
If you are aware of someone in distress, please feel free to contact CAPS, CARE Team, or the Office of the Dean of Students.
