This week, Governor Newsom’s announced a framework for extending COVID-19 supplemental paid sick leave through September 30, 2022. This extension of paid sick leave is in response to the surge of COVID-19 cases driven by the Omicron variant. This is a very encouraging development, and we are monitoring the State legislature closely as they work to get the bill to the Governor’s desk for signature. When the bill is signed by Governor Newsom and thereby enacted into law, we will have the ability to provide extended leave benefits under this law in accordance with collective bargaining agreements.
Thank you again for your support of the campus COVID-19 safety protocols and working cooperatively to maintain our campus as a safe working and learning environment.
