The National Weather Service has issued an advisory to Sonoma County regarding heavy rain and potential flooding that may impact our area beginning on Saturday, December 11, and continuing through next week.

Sonoma State Police Department (SSPD), Facilities Management, and the Office of Emergency Services will actively monitor Copeland Creek (which traverses the northern end of the campus) and campus roadways, and respond to flooding and debris issues.

Based on current and forecasted conditions, we do not anticipate that there will be disruptions to campus operations and campus will remain open next week.

Should conditions change, students and employees will be notified through email and the Emergency Notification System, which will send messages using text message, email, and office phone.

Please use caution when driving in the rain as roadways will be slick and gusty winds are expected, and give yourself additional time to travel to your destination. Do not drive through standing water when the depth is unknown. Call 911 with any emergencies and report non-emergency weather related hazards to SSPD at 707-664-4444.

Questions about campus conditions can be sent to emergency@sonoma.edu.
