Beginning December 6, 2021, Sonoma State University employees who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will be required to complete weekly testing. Some employees have already been completing weekly testing and we are grateful for the collective commitment to campus safety. The weekly testing program is an integral part of the university’s multi-layered approach to reducing COVID-19 exposure risk on campus.
Employees who have an approved religious/deeply held belief or medical exemption will be tested once per 7-day period and report results to their appropriate administrator or designee. Employees who do not access campus for a 7-day period will not be required to test for that time period. Appropriate administrators or their designee will submit a weekly report via Qualtrics to both University Personnel and Risk Management and Safety Services to certify their employees’ compliance with the program requirements.
Employees subject to the weekly testing requirements will be notified via email by the end of day on December 3. If, at any time after December 3, an employee provides proof of vaccination through MyHR, they will no longer be subject to the testing requirement.
Managers with employees who are subject to the weekly testing requirements will be notified via email by the end of the day, November 30, and required to attend training on December 1 or December 2 to review their responsibilities and the weekly certification process.
COVID-19 testing will be available during work hours with 20 minutes allowed for use of the on-campus testing clinic and 30 minutes to be used for off-campus testing. Currently, the on-campus testing center is available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Hours of the testing center can be found here. We will adjust the hours of availability as the demand on testing increases. Please check the testing center website for up to date hours of operation.
