Keeping our campus safe during the pandemic is a priority for the university. Despite a phased, multi-pronged communication campaign explaining the September 30 deadline to comply with the CSU COVID Vaccination policy, we still have more than 400 students who have yet to comply. Of those 400 students, the majority are registered in at least one in-person course and so are likely to be on campus this semester.
As a consequence for non-compliance, we will be placing a spring registration hold on students’ accounts AND disabling their COVID clearance indicators. The Student Health Center will help these students reverse these consequences upon successful compliance with the vaccine policy. Campus administrators will also reach out to our students on an individual basis over the next few weeks to assist in their compliance.
Beginning today, Monday, October 18, 2021, it is particularly important that all faculty and staff diligently request to see students’ COVID clearance indicators when they arrive in any indoor campus space: all classrooms, labs, offices, lobbies, lounges, etc. If any student presents a purple or red COVID clearance indicator, they are out of compliance with the vaccine policy and therefore should not be admitted into any indoor space on campus.
The purple indicator looks like this:
Faculty and staff should advise the student to call the Student Health Center at 707-664-2921 to resolve the issue. The staff at the Student Health Center will work with these students to bring them into compliance, at which time they can reactivate the campus clearance indicator and lift the registration hold.
Thank you for your attention to this very important screening process in your classrooms and office spaces.
