Alexander Diaz-Lopez from Villanova University will present: Math and Codes: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow

For more than 2,500 years, humans have been “hiding” text in order to communicate without intermediaries understanding the messages. We will discuss techniques and methods developed through history, including monoalphabetic ciphers, polyalphabetic ciphers, mechanical ciphers, and more recently, public-key cryptography.
