Howard Limoli long-time professor of French Passes Away
Professor Howard Limoli passed away on October 5, 2013 in Santa Rosa at the age of 80, after a battle with cancer and kidney failure.
A professor of foreign languages from 1966-1996, Limoli shared a connection with literature and had a deep understanding for cultural and global awareness. He was a professor at the University for 30 years and served as Chair of the Foreign Language Department from 1991-1996.
In addition to his gentle spirit, “Howard was also a gifted translator and spoke fluent Italian. With him our beloved department has lost another of its formative pioneers,” said Phillip Beard.
Services were held on October 12 in Santa Rosa where family and friends came to remember and celebrate the life of Professor Limoli.
