Sunday, February 4, 2024, 5:30pm

TO: Campus Community
FR: Monir Ahmed, Vice President for Administration and Finance, CFO and Karen Moranski, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs

We hope you all are staying safe and dry. As you may be aware, Sonoma County is currently experiencing a series of winter storms, which has brought inclement weather and challenging conditions to our region. Based on current and forecasted conditions, campus will be open and operational tomorrow, February 5. We do not anticipate there will be any disruption to classes or other campus operations. Should conditions change, students and employees will be notified through email or the emergency notification system.

The safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff are of utmost importance to us. Our Facilities Management team has been working diligently to ensure that walkways and pathways are cleared of rain and debris.

While we understand that some members of our community may face difficulties in commuting during adverse weather conditions, we trust that everyone will use their discretion and prioritize their safety. Regional travel may be impacted by road closures. Information on road closures within Sonoma County can be found on SoCoEmergency

  • Employees: Employees who are impacted by regional road closures should notify their appropriate administrator. Managers may determine if remote work is operationally feasible at the unit level or applicable leave credits may be used.
  • Students: Students who are impacted should contact their faculty members for any affected classes. Our thanks to faculty for working with students who may be impacted.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding during this challenging time. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to emergency@sonoma.edu
