Ceremonies last for 3 hours. We proudly call every graduates name as part of Commencement.  Please plan to attend the complete ceremony.

Graduate Info: Arrival time & location

Graduates should report to the processional line-up on the north side of Stevenson Hall. Look for your school banner. Arrive one hour prior to your ceremony time.

Your name will be called in the order you line up that day. Fill out the name card given to you in line. Your name will then be read from that card when you cross the platform and receive your diploma case. This card also serves to identify you for the campus photographers.

Caps & Gowns

The academic regalia to be worn for Commencement is the traditional black cap and gown. Regalia can be ordered at the bookstore. Order yours early to ensure correct size.

We encourage family and friends to watch the live webcast of the ceremonies from the comfort of home by visiting on May 16 and clicking on the live webcast link.

Guest Info

General seating is limited to four guests per graduate. Seating is provided with chairs and bleachers on the Commencement Lawn. Due to having 1,000 graduates per ceremony, seating for family members is extremely limited.

Permits are not required on Commencement day. Guests with a valid disable placard can park in Lot G, the closest lot to the Commencement site. Additionally, advance reservations for a special “assigned seating” area for the disabled or limited mobility guest plus one helper can be requested. The assigned seating area is a section of metal folding chairs on the lawn.

Announcements & Photos

Orders can be placed online by visiting HerffJones or through the bookstore. Plan to come by the bookstore’s Grad Fair in the spring.
