General Information

Welcome all alumni of PreCollege Programs (PCP), University Support & Preparation Services (USPS) and Early Academic Outreach (EAO). Over the years our department has changed but our mission has remained the same: to empower students to access and succeed in higher education by providing a spectrum of services that promote academic, social and personal success.

We have achieved this mission through TRIO and non-TRIO grant funds. The Federal TRIO Programs are federally funded outreach and student service programs designed to identify and serve individuals from low income, disadvantaged backgrounds. Sonoma State University houses eight TRIO programs targeted to serve and assist low-income individuals, first-generation college students, and individuals with disabilities to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to postbaccalaureate programs. Our non-TRIO funding is geared to providing tutorial services at various school sites and empowering parents with knowledge needed to ensure their student can obtain their goal of graduating from College and more.

Why was this website set up?

In order to ensure TRIO programs and services are viable we track the progress of current and prior program participants. This collected data is provided to the United States Department of Education for their use in aggregation of all TRIO programs.

If you would like to see more detailed information you can go to the main TRiO website at http://www2.ed.gov/about/offices/list/ope/trio/index.html.
