In a strange, otherworldly landscape, a group of women from different times and places find themselves wrestling with their lives. Beholden to old-fashioned societal norms, how can they break free? From the creative minds of SSU’s Jane Erwin Hammett and Lynne Morrow, HEROINES assembles the most soaring, inspiring, and hilarious numbers from the history of operetta in a dynamic new revue. Drawing from The Merry Widow, The Threepenny Opera, and Gilbert & Sullivan, HEROINES focuses on an explosive period in musical history at the turn of the 20th century, when women weren’t just fighting for the vote - they wanted to be bad....
