Hours and Services:

  • Academic Year Hours:

    • Regular School Year Service Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00AM to 4:30 PM excluding campus holiday closures.
    • Extended Hours Clinic: Mondays 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM (during Fall and Spring semesters only when regular classes are in session)
  • Summer Hours and Services

    may vary, call 664-2921 to verify.
  • Academic Year Services:

    • MEDICAL CARE: The Student Health Center is a fully accredited health care clinic, staffed by Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, etc. The Health Center offers a wide range of primary care outpatient medical services (most without additional cost to regularly enrolled students) ranging from diagnosis & treatment of illnesses and injuries to contraception, immunizations, day infirmary care, etc.
    • CLINICAL LABORATORY: provides diagnostic testing in conjunction with Health Center medical visits. Most basic lab tests are offered without additional charge to SSU students during the academic year. Modest fees are charged for special augmented lab tests and summer laboratory services.
    • PHARMACY: an in-house low cost pharmacy is staffed by a licensed pharmacist during the school year and dispenses medicines prescribed by Health Center clinicians, offers non-prescription items, and provides related patient education.
    • X-RAY: clinically indicated plain diagnostic x-rays ordered by Health Center physicians and interpreted by Board Certified radiologists provided at no additional charge to SSU students during the academic year and referred out during the summer.
    • LIAISON & REFERRAL: coordination with local health care providers, personal physician, etc., for on-going medical problems, specialty consultation, after hours care, hospitalization, and so on.
    • HEALTH EDUCATION: addresses such topics as nutrition and fitness, preventive health, psychosocial substance issues, healthy lifestyles, communicable diseases, travel medicine. Web based health education is accessible through Health Information Links, Immunizations, Other Immunization and Health Recommendations.
  • After Hours and Out of Area Care:

    Availability of on-campus SSU medical service is limited to the Student Health Center location and hours of operation. Be prepared to consult other sources of health care or information during evenings, weekends, campus closures & holidays, or when specialty level services, hospitalization or similar services are needed.
