Minutes of Academic Senate meetings are available in the following formats - sound files of the Senate and Executive Committe, pdf documents stored in ScholarWork, and Word files in the Senate office.
We are slowly, but surely putting all the Senate and Executive Committee agendas and minutes into the University's Institutional Repository - ScholarWorks. You can search ScholarWorks, so finding specific things from the agendas or minutes is relatively easy. Once we have all the Senate and Executive Committee material in the repository, we'll start adding the Standing Committees.
How to access the SSU-5 server to hear the digital recordings of the current year meetings.
For Windows users, if you do not already have a shortcut to or access to the SSU-5 server, Choose START, then RUN, then type in \\SSU-5 and press enter. At the SSU-5 server site, you will see a site for the Academic Senate.
For MAC users, first you will need to get a username and password for the SSU-5 server from the Help Desk in IT. Then in the Finder under GO select CONNECT TO SERVER. In the window that comes up for SERVER ADDRESS type smb://ssu-5. Click connect. You will get a log in screen. Enter your user name and password. A list of servers will come up - choose Academic Senate. A window of the Academic Senate server site will open.
Once you are on the SSU-5 server:
On the Academic Senate site are two folders labeled Executive Committee Minutes and Senate Meeting Minutes. Those two folders are accessible to anyone on sonoma.edu. Look in the folders of the Senate and Executive minutes. The folders with date labels such as Senate4_28_05 are the digital recordings. Inside that folder double click on the index.html doc. DO NOT OPEN ANY OTHER FILE IN THAT FOLDER PLEASE. The index.html doc will open any web browser on your machine and display and play the meeting recording with time stamped agenda items. Your browser needs to have a flash plug-in. It's very cool.
If you have any problems or questions accessing the SSU-5 archive of the Senate, please contact the Senate office at X42801 or email or stop by ST1027.
