Rohnert Park, CA -- The School of Business and Economics (SBE) at Sonoma State University (SSU) announced that Dr. Richard Campbell, professor of Business and Marketing, is ranked among the top Sports Business "thought leaders" on Twitter by Affinio Inc., an award-winning marketing intelligence company. Earlier this year, Dr. Campbell's Twitter handle @DrRichCampbell was named as one of the top 100 "must-follow" Sports business Twitter accounts by Forbes magazine.
"Affinio is evidence that my Twitter account and
articles are reaching a broader audience than just the classroom. Writing forces me to stay current in my Sports Business and Marketing profession, which I incorporate into my Lectures at Sonoma State University," Dr. Rich Campbell, professor of Business and Marketing at Sonoma State University said.
Dr. Campbell is an influencer in Sports Business, Digital Marketing, and Social Media. Currently, he is a contributor on Forbes.com and previously contributed to the Sports Business section for About.com. To date, he has contributed 188 articles on Sports Business and Marketing. Dr. Campbell has been invited twice in 2011 and 2013 to speak at the MIT Sloan Sports Conference, the apex forum where thousands of industry professionals gather to connect and share best practices and innovation.
At Sonoma State University, Dr. Campbell is devoted to making a difference in his student's lives.
"The most valuable information I have taken from Dr. Rich Campbell's Sports Business class is that there is a wide variety of careers in the Sports Industry. I went in thinking that there were only sales, and management jobs for athletes and teams. Throughout the course, Dr. Rich Campbell taught me that any career path you may be interested in, there is a need for that in the Sports Industry," Carson Murphy, Marketing, class of 2017.
"Professors like Dr. Richard Campbell truly make a difference in and outside of the classroom. They not only teach the concepts, but help students see the possibilities of how they can apply what they are learning to an actual career. This is why Dr. Campbell has received the Students Choice Award for Top Professor with Most Impact In and Outside the Classroom for several consecutive years," Dr. Karen Thompson, Director of Academic Programs and Chair of the Department of Business Administration said.
