Welcome to the School of Business and Economics
My background (teaching, researching, consulting) is leadership. One of the most important tenants I teach is authenticity. This is probably why I often find myself questioning the value of generic messages like this. Especially when they're followed by claims of an organization valuing personal attention or meeting the individual needs of their stakeholders.
SBE @ SSU's stakeholders are vast and varied. Perhaps you're visiting this page because you're a business in the North Bay seeking ways to engage with us. Perhaps you're a parent looking for information about the school in which you're considering investing for your child. Or maybe you're a working professional looking for that turbo-charge in another stage in your career.
In any case, I'm thrilled you've reached out. Our vision in the coming years is to capitalize on an unprecedented opportunity to join other forward-thinkers across all industries in disrupting the way business has been conducted in the past. We're standing at a place in time that provides an opportunity to innovate like never before. Challenge the status quo--just like SSU's faculty have done since our University's inception.
We'll accomplish our vision of becoming the educational nucleus for a collaborative, thriving North Bay economy by reaching out to the stakeholders like you and build partnerships. Like any partnership, we as an institution must add more and more value every step of the way. To your degree. To your hiring processes. To your network. To your alma mater.
I encourage you to reach out to me personally with your thoughts, questions, or ideas on how we can work together. Send me an e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org. I'll respond just as soon as I can, or find the right person to address your need.
Thank you for visiting us online. I value the time you've invested to learn more about SBE at SSU and I look forward to connecting in person.
