How to Register for PSY 499, Psychology Internship

Because the Psychology Internship requires a signed contract with your agency - the Internship Agreement - you CANNOT register online. Please make sure you follow the steps below.

Before you register, make sure you:

  1. Meet prerequisites.
  2. Attend an Information Meeting or contact link Dr. Lorna Catford, Internship Coordinator.
  3. Obtain an approved placement with a field supervisor.
  4. Submit the Internship Agreement Form link with the signature of your on-site supervisor by the end of the Add/Drop period.
  5. Provide your on-site Supervisor with our Information for Supervisors. link
  6. Obtain a course Syllabus.
  7. Inform the Internship Coordinator of your 1st & 2nd choice of Supervision Group Meetings. link

Fall and Spring Registration

  1. By the end of the Add/Drop period (2nd week of school) put your completed Internship Agreement  Form, plus a copy, in the mailbox of the Internship Coordinator, Dr. Lorna Catford, in Stevenson 3092.
  2. If there are any questions about your Internship Agreement, Dr. Catford will contact you.
  3. Dr. Catford will sign it and send it on for the remaining reviews and signatures.
  4. We will send your fully signed Internship Agreement to Admissions & Records.
  5. Admissions & Records will put the course on your transcript after the semester starts.
  6. If you need to have the course added sooner, please attach an explanatory note to your Internship Agreement Form.

Summer Registration

  1. Design your Summer Internship individually with the Internship Coordinator.
  2. Instead of a Supervision Group, set up individual Midpoint and Final E-mail Check-ins.
  3. Submit your completed Internship Agreement to the Internship Coordinator at the start of your Internship.
  4. We will obtain all signatures and return it to you to take to the Extended Education Office, Stevenson 1012, with payment.
  5. You MUST go to the Extended Education Office to register before you start your Internship.
