Parking Lot D Closure Information

Revised 11/22/2011

From December 5, 2011 through approximately January 2014, parking Lot D (reserved) will be closed due to construction of the Student Center. Parking Lot C and the western portion of parking lot D are expected to reopen sometime in January 2012.

During that time, the entry and exit to lots C and D will be moved to the west side of D Lot (across from Verdot Village) and Lot C will be modified to allow for continued access to disabled parking, emergency vehicle and delivery access for the Recreation Center and Darwin Hall.

We understand this will affect how and where some faculty, staff and students are able to park. The information below is intended to provide information regarding reserved parking permits and privileges, refunds, disabled access and other parking options during the lot closure.

Reserved Permit Holders

I purchased a reserved permit so I could park in Lot D. Are there other reserved parking options that I could use during the closure of D Lot?

  • Reserved parking entitles permits holders to park in any reserved or general parking lot on campus. Parking Lot A (between the Art Building and Carson Hall) and Juniper Lane (east of the Physical Education Building) also have reserved parking that may be used by any reserved permit holder. Please refer to the campus map for more details on these locations.

I am not interested in parking in reserved lots other than D lot and would like to downgrade my permit to a General permit.

  • Due to the closure of D lot, you may exchange your reserved permit for a General permit between November 28 and December 9, 2011. You must downgrade to a general permit to be eligible for a refund. Full/prorated refunds without additional purchase are not available. Please visit Seawolf Services to downgrade your permit and apply for a refund of the difference in the fee.

For example, your December 1 paycheck includes a deduction for parking between November 1 and November 30. Refunds or credit for partial months are not available. Therefore, we recommend that employees visit Seawolf Services on the last business day of the month (November 30 or December 23, for example) to downgrade permits.
