What I Do at SSU

In addition to serving as Chair of the Department and Director of Acting ,  I teach acting classes from fundamentals to advanced scene study in the upper division Block program, including studies in acting Shakespeare, Brecht and Chekhov. Other courses I cover are Directing Workshop, Intro to Theatre History, and a course called Theatre of Today aimed to prepare students for post-college professional life. One of my  favorite activities  in the department is directing productions in our season of plays. I am also very involved in department advocacy, curriculum development and season planning and budgeting. From 2001-2006 I served as  Chair of General Education at the university-wide level. Another of my favorites is advising students.
