The Decameron - November 9-18, 2007

A New Student Adaptation of Boccaccio's 14th Century Masterpiece

Please prepare one memorized monologue, preferably classic, and be prepared to tell and act out one two minute funny story.

Fall Dance Ensemble Concert - November 29-December 2, 2007

Directed by Nancy Lyons
Location: PE1

Auditions will be in PE1 (Dance Studio) on Tuesday, Aug. 21 and Monday, Aug 27. The auditions are open to anyone with dance experience. Just show up and be dressed and ready to move!

All students who are cast must register for THAR 301, for 3 units.

Audition Requirements: The students who choose to audition for West Side Story need to attend BOTH types of auditions (Sing & Dance  AND Sing & Act). 

Students attending the Sing & Dance auditions need to prepare two songs of contrasting styles. Be dressed and ready to move and dance.

Students attending the Sing & Act auditions can use the same two songs from the previous auditions (or can have two new songs) but also need to prepare two monologues of contrasting styles/periods.

 

Romeo and Juliet - Opens April 10, 2008

Preliminary Auditions:
Sept .10th 2007, 6pm-10pm, Person Theater
Sept. 11th 2007, 6pm-10pm, Person Theater

Please prepare 2 memorized monologues totaling no more than 3 minutes of material, be able to move during at least one of the monologues (walking, sitting and standing, crawling, dancing, something).
One monologue must be a verse monologue or soliloquy by Shakespeare, and be a minimum of 14 lines
One monologue must be a contemporary monologue, and be contrasting in tome to the Shakespeare (i.e. if the Shakespeare is comic, the contemporary should be dramatic; if the Shakespeare is dramatic/ serious, the contemporary piece should be comic).
Optional: prepare 16-24 bars of a song to sing a cappella.
