University Wind Ensembles
You don’t have to be a music major to keep your musicianship alive!
Symphonic Wind Ensemble
The Sonoma State University Wind Ensemble is dedicated to the study, practice and performance of a wide variety of wind band literature. The Wind Ensemble encourages musical growth in its members through careful selection of repertoire. Membership in the Wind Ensemble is open to all university students, regardless of major. No entrance audition is required; however, auditions for part assignments are made at the beginning of each semester. The Wind Ensemble performs regularly throughout the academic year. For more information about the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, contact Dr. Anderson Collinsworth at racworth@sonoma.edu.
Chamber Winds, Brass Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble
The Chamber Winds, Brass and Percussion Ensembles are comprised of select members from the Symphonic Wind Ensemble. Students in these one-to-a-part chamber ensembles learn to work in a collaborative musical environment which promotes individual musicianship and responsibility. Each ensemble maintains a flexible instrumentation to accommodate a diverse and exciting repertoire. For more information about these chamber ensembles, contact Dr. Anderson Collinsworth at racworth@sonoma.edu.
