News: Class Test Scanning System Upgrade
The campus Test Scanning System has been upgraded. The new system is superior in several respects.
- Reliable, Efficient and Supportable -
The old system was broken and no longer supported by the vendor. The new system is more reliable, efficient and easier to support by the vendor and IT. - Better Reporting Data -
All the reporting data available from the old system is still available. In many cases more detailed information and better summaries are available. - Easier to Read Reports -
All of the reports have a much cleaner, more legible format. Many reports include legends to assist in identifying data. - Email and Print Reports Available -
Instructors can now receive a PDF version of test results via email. Just check that option on the form and include your SSU email address. As always, print versions are available, too.
Changes faculty need to be aware of:
- Student ID numbers must be bubbled on the tests before submitting them to IT. This new security measure is mandatory and will help ensure proper test scanning and reporting. Students bubble in their first and last names, however that is optional.
- The Class Test Scanning Request form has been updated for the new system. The old form can no longer be accepted.
- Reports have slightly different names. See the report descriptions (linked above) for changes and sample reports. The IT Helpdesk can also assist you in selecting the right reports for your needs.
- "Statistical Summary" data has moved to the new Item Analysis and Score Distribution Reports.
