What can I do about Malware?
For Students and Personal Computers
Make sure that your computer is protected with antivirus software. It is recommended that your computer is scanned once a week and that your software is configured to look for new virus definitions from the software company that made it. Here is a list of a couple popular brands:
If you are protected and happen to still get infected, please bring in your computer to the IT Help Desk in Schulz 1000 and we can help you get the malware removed.
For Residence Halls Students
If you're living in SSU's Residence Halls, you can download and install an SSU-licenced version of McAfee VirusScan. See Res Halls Tech for more info.
For Staff and Faculty
If you have a state tagged computer and believe that you may be infected please turn off your computer and contact the Help Desk at 664-4357 or if you have a Geo Team Consultant please contact them directly.
